Lizhong Wang | Founder
Lizhong began his academic dance training at the Shanghai Dance School at the age of ten. In 2009, he was selected to participate in Prix de Lausanne, a prestigious international competition that supports promising young dancers pursuing professional careers. That same year, he joined Ballet School of the HAMBURG BALLET, where he continued training among a diverse and international student body.
In 2011, he became a member of HAMBURG BALLET – John Neumeier. Through dedication, discipline, and artistic depth, he quickly established himself within the company. Across many seasons as a company member, he had the privilege of working closely with John Neumeier in over 70 of his repertoires; also danced ballets from: Petipa, Balanchine, Bournonville, Cranko, Wheeldon and other renowned choreographers. These experiences—on stages both in Hamburg and internationally—deepened his artistic articulation and shaped his understanding of dance as a continually evolving dialogue. Later in 2019, he was promoted to Soloist, entrusted with diverse character portrait on stage and leading figure among the up coming new dancers. As his career developed, so did his commitment to supporting others. Mentorship became an essential part of his practice—both artistically and personally. He also took on the direction and coordination of the company’s Young Choreographers program, allowing him to help foster emerging voices and explore the deeper creative dimensions of this art form.
He wants to focus on the artistry of the movement, that with musicality and joy through motion, you can uncover something new every time.
